How it works

Get an overview of the Reformer Pilates instructor training. You’ll learn about the requirements for participation, the training process, how to obtain your certificate, and what opportunities await you after completing the teacher training.

 
    • You must have completed at least 20 Reformer Pilates classes in any studio if you already hold a Pilates mat certification.

    • You must have completed at least 35 Reformer Pilates classes in any studio if you have no certification.

    • Adequate level of physical fitness.

    • You must attend all 5 modules (5 days in total, 5 hours each).

    • You have to complete small exercises/homework assignments at your own pace.

    • Conduct 10 hours of self-directed observation during or after the training program. These observation hours can be completed at Reformer Club, where you can attend classes for free if spots are available or any other Pilates studio.

    • We recommend observing as many different trainers as possible to broaden your understanding and gain valuable practical experience.

  • Gather 10 hours of Reformer teaching experience with friends and family – you can therefore use the Reformer Club studio during non-class times.

  • Pass the practical exam.

    No written theoretical exam required.

  • Start Teaching – Gain experience by working as a substitute instructor and building studio connections.

    Keep Learning – Expand your skills with advanced workshops like Jump Board, Prenatal, Postnatal Pilates...

Questions? We got you!

    1. If you already hold a Pilates mat certification, you must have completed at least 20 Reformer Pilates classes in any studio.

    2. If you do not have any certification, you must have completed at least 35 Reformer Pilates classes in any studio.

    3. You should have an adequate level of physical fitness.

    4. A basic understanding of Pilates principles and movement mechanics is beneficial but not mandatory.

  • A mat certification is not required but highly recommended, as it provides a solid foundation in Pilates principles and teaching techniques. Previous experience with Reformer Pilates is essential to ensure you can follow the training effectively.

  • The training sessions on-site will be conducted in German. However, the training script and video platform will be available in English.

  • The entire training program takes place within one quarter of the year and includes:

    1. 5 days of in-person training, each lasting 5 hours.

    2. Additional homework, which you can schedule at your own pace.

    3. 10 hours of self-directed observation, which can be completed at Reformer Club (where you can attend classes for free if spots are available) or at any other Pilates studio. Observing different trainers is highly recommended to enhance your understanding.

    4. 10 hours of Reformer teaching practice with friends and family. You may use the Reformer Club studio during non-class times.

    5. A final examination day.

  • Yes, upon successful completion of the training and passing the final exam, you will receive a certification that qualifies you as a Reformer Pilates instructor.

  • Yes, after completing the training and passing the final exam, you will be qualified to teach Reformer Pilates. However, gaining additional teaching experience and continuing education is recommended to refine your skills and build confidence.

  • If you don't pass the exam (though we will work very hard together to ensure you do well), we will find a solution together. We will arrange a makeup exam date to give you another opportunity to succeed. Our goal is to support you throughout the process and help you achieve your certification.

  • Observation classes are an essential part of your Reformer Pilates training. They provide you with the opportunity to gain more practical experience by observing a variety of different Reformer Pilates instructors. This allows you to deepen your practice, see different teaching styles, techniques, and how instructors interact with their students.

    Completing these observation classes is crucial because it enhances your understanding of Pilates instruction, and you'll learn new methods and insights that you can incorporate into your own teaching practice. Additionally, you are required to submit an observation log to receive your certification at the end of the training.

    These observation hours can be completed at Reformer Club, where you can attend classes for free if spots are available or any other Pilates studio.

  • If you become ill and need to cancel your participation in the Pilates teacher training, the following cancellation terms apply:

    1. More than 31 days before the start date: 25% of the fee is due.

    2. 15 to 30 days before the start date: 50% of the fee is due.

    3. 14 days or less before the start date: 100% of the fee is due.

    These terms ensure that both parties are protected and that you have a clear understanding of the financial implications in case you need to withdraw due to illness.
